Online Counseling For M.Tech and M. Pharmacy Courses In PTU for 2013 batch Starts

PTU has invited application form for the various post graduate courses such as M.Tech. (Full/Part Time) and  M. Pharmacy through GATE 2013 and  GPAT – 2013 respectively
Last Date for Submission of Fee 12 July 2013 extended From 25 June 2013

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
(a) M.Tech.All those candidate who have passed B.E. / B. Tech. with at least 50%(45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) marks in aggregate and with valid GATE Score shall be eligible to apply for Post graduate level M.Tech course
(b) M. PharmacyAll those candidate who have passed B. Pharmacy with at least 50%(45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category), preference with valid GPAT - 2013 score shall be eligible.
Note -

1. From the Academic session 2013-2014, 85% Seats will be reserved for the candidates from within the Punjab State and 15% will be open to candidates from outside the State.
2. Admission to M.Tech course both for 85% Seats for resident of Punjab and 15% seats for outsiders shall be made strictly on the basis of valid GATE score and in case seats haven’t been filled under respective categories, admission shall be considered on the basis of inter se merit in qualifying examination.
3. The Eligibility criteria before 85% seats will be that the candidate shall be a resident of Punjab State as per Punjab Government, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reform (PP II Branch) letter No 1/3/95-3PPII/9619 dated 6th June 1996 and letter No. 1/3/95-3PPII/80 dated 1st January,1999 (attached as Annexure) or have passed B.Tech or equivalent examination as regular candidate from recognized institution situated in Punjab, the candidate would be required to submit a certificate to this effect from the Principal/Head of Institution last attended in prescribed Proforma as given in the Prospectus.

COUNSELLING FEE: Fee of Rs. 2000/-(non-refundable) is to be deposited in branches of bank listed on the website/ or Transaction made through Online Mode.

MERIT LIST
(a) M. Tech
1. Valid GATE Scores shall be considered as merit.
2. Vacant seats shall be filled based on the inter-se-merit of qualifying examination.
The relative rank of the candidates securing equal marks will be placed in the merit list in accordance with the following criteria:
(a) In the case of tie in above, the candidate securing higher marks in aggregate of 10+2 shall rank higher in the order of merit.
(b) In case of a tie in (a) above, the candidate senior in age shall rank higher in the order of merit.

(b) M. Pharmacy
GPAT – 2013 Scores shall be considered as merit.
Vacant seats shall be filled based on the inter-se- merit of qualifying examination.
The relative rank of the candidates securing equal marks will be placed in the merit list in accordance with the following criteria:
a) In the case of tie in above, the candidate securing higher marks in aggregate of 10+2 shall rank higher in the order of merit.

NOTE: The inclusion of the name of a candidate in the merit list of M.Tech/ M.Pharm shall not ipso facto, entitle him / her to secure admission.

(C) M. Tech Part Time
The eligibility criteria for admission in M. Tech. (Part Time) course, is regular B.E. / B. Tech. degree of Punjab Technical University or its equivalent with at least 50% in aggregate, preference with valid GATE score
There will not be any age restrictions. However, preference shall be given to those who are below 45 years of age
Basis of Calculation 

Total Points :                                                             120

i. B.E. / B. Tech. Points :                                            100 (based on % of marks)

ii. Experience (max. 5 years) :                                   20 (4 Points per year) Points (Only for faculty of PTU affiliated college)

How To Apply: candidates can Apply by depositing the counseling fees of 2000 Rs
For Offline mode: Following States are covered: Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jammu Kashmir, Bihar
Banks are available.
HDFC, PNB, AXIS, SBOP
For Online mode: Through HDFC payment gateway and here you need to fill up credit/ debit card's details and then make the payment. If the payment will be successful then it will give you the option to print receipt else you need to make the payment again.

• Only Credit Cards with "Visa" or "Master Card" logo are accepted. This is a 3D secured verification payment gateway which requires use of a password for credit cards. Please contact your bank to make sure your credit card is activated for online payments.
• Only Debit Cards with "Visa" or "Master Card" logo are accepted. This is a 3D secured verification payment gateway which requires use of your debit card pin number and activation by your bank. Please contact your bank to make sure your debit card is activated for online payments

PTU was established in the year 1997 under The Punjab Technical University Act, 1996 (Punjab) Act No. 1 of 1997) to provide for the establishment and incorporation of a University for the advancement of technical education and development thereof in the State of Punjab and for matters connected therewith.
